When I got to the part where the backplate and heatsink were removed, I was surprised to see a dark halo/donut on the pcb, located on the side opposite of GPU. The halo/donut basically encircles the GPU, but on the flip side. WebSimilar to the FTW cards, there is both a Regular Thermal Mod set of pads and an alternate. WebI have experimented mixing thermal adhesive with thermal paste. If you can get the brittle type of thermal paste this seems to work. I used like 3 parts adhesive 7 parts thermal paste. However, this needs a lot of mixing to get the two parts to combine and takes a really long time to harden, probably several days at room temperature.
